This year is the first time that T Levels Week is happening \u2013 so it\u2019s an exciting time to get involved. In this article, we\u2019ll give you a quick primer on what T Levels are and why you might like to study one. We\u2019ll also introduce you to a few people studying T Levels across Greater Manchester so you can hear about their experiences.<\/p>\n

What are T Levels?<\/h3>\n

T Levels are a post-GCSE qualification for 16 to 19-year-olds. They have been recently introduced, with some subjects already launched and many more still to come. One T Level equals three A levels, and they take two years to complete.<\/p>\n

T Levels have been designed by leading businesses and employers to give you the knowledge and skills you need to succeed in a career. They\u2019re often seen as a great way to enter a specific career, rather than A levels which offer a more general pathway.<\/p>\n

With a T Level course, you\u2019ll spend 80% of your time studying in a classroom, and 20% with an employer on a minimum 9-week long placement. So, you\u2019ll get lots of experience of the workplace and what the job you\u2019re studying for will actually be like.<\/p>\n

How do I know if a T Level is right for me?<\/h3>\n

T Levels can fast track your career, but you\u2019ll need to have a good sense of the industry that you want to work in. Because T Levels are very focused on one career, they offer a great pathway into that specific job, or set of jobs. But, if you\u2019re not sure what you want to do, you may be better off keeping your options open.<\/p>\n

T Levels are a great pathway into an apprenticeship or further study, or simply going straight into a job. They are worth the same amount of UCAS points as 3 A levels, so you can apply to university with them in a similar way, if you\u2019d like to.<\/p>\n
